The cottage

YEAR 1864 • ROOM 801

In this room lies a story that begins in 1864. That's when the original Bykstugan was built, which then belonged to Djulö School and was located on the shore of Lake Djulösjön . Here, water was heated over an open fire and linen was byssed with gentle hands - a place for both work and community.

In 2017 , a careful decision was made: to move both Djulö primary school and the historic village cottage to Dufweholms Herrgård . A move filled with respect for craftsmanship and history, which laid the foundation for this beautiful room in timber – where the walls bear traces of the past.

After careful restoration, the room was ready for occupancy in the summer of 2023 – a place where the quiet presence of history meets the comfort of the present.

The village cottage is currently located next to Lake Dufveholmssjön.
